Ladies, was your father in your life as a child? How has it affected your relationship with men?

I am asking to get insight.

I'm wondering if my relationship with my father has contributed to how I am in relationships with men. I learned at a very young age that I could not depend on my father. As an adult he doesn't quite understand that I do forgive him for his mistakes and such.

However, he literally just told me that he has 'authority' over me. What kind of BS? 😒

He somehow thinks that.

But anyway he did not raise me and I had an awful relationship with my mothers husband growing up. In a sense I feel as though the father figures in my life failed me. But I do forgive them both.

Its kinda challenging for me to depend on a man. I think it has helped me to be strong and independant though.

What are your thoughts?
