Infertility saved my husbands life

Alaina

My husband and I started ttc in May of 2016. Right before our RE appointment we got pregnant. May 2017. Unfortunately our baby was lost around 5w6d. We then got basic testing. Everything appeared good on my end. only to find out my husband had incredibly low count/motility/and morphology. We took a long break. February 2018 we went to the urologist to see what we could do for male factor. Only to learn my husband had a testicular cancer reoccurance. He had 0 signs or symptoms of cancer this time. It was in the lymphatic system in his back surrounding his aorta. Had we had our baby, we never would have known, had we not experienced infertility, we may have found it too late. He went through 9 weeks (3 rounds) of chemo and I am happy to say my husband is now cancer free, with less than a 1% chance of it ever returning. Medically he is in remission for 5 years and after that he is considered cured. Chemo left him sterile so we are now starting the process of IUI with donor sperm. Our donor sperm is frozen at our clinic and we are now just waitinf for my next period to start medications and get the ball rolling. Infertility was sort of a blessing for us. And I like to think our child gave its life to save his or her dads. We have been blessed. ❤💙🌈💙❤
