Anyone else petrified of the thought of labour already?

29weeks to go and can’t stop thinking about how terrible labour is going to be😂😂 I’m so scared!!!!!

I was terrified the first time, but now having gone through it once, I know more what to expect, I know how wonderful my epidural was, and I feel a lot better about it.  It will still suck, but I know from experience that I can handle it.

Don’t worry. It’s not so bad honestly! You’re body knows what to do instinctually, And how to breathe. It’s an amazing thing.

I had a terrible labour with my first and I’m fine, so I figure whatever happens this time I’ll be fine too. I agree with what someone else said about educating yourself, because you have options to help you get through it and knowing those can maybe help you feel more in control.

I’m not that nervous anymore but I was mostly really scared due to stories I heard about doctors here in America. I have started to listen to a podcast called the birthhour which is awesome and it’s women telling their birth stories. I also hired a doula who has been able to calm me down a lot. There is this believe that if you can make the environment where you are going to give birth as relaxing as possible and only have people around you who you trust it will all be easier and less painful. I don’t know how true this is but it’s worth trying I guess :p

The part I absolutely HATE is the insertion of the needle for the IV because it always hurts so freaking much!! I HATE needles!! Thankfully when it comes to the epidural the anesthesiologist for both of my previous deliveries made it where I only felt pressure and no pain.

I didnt think about it with my first. She was a breeze. Face up so i only had pressure laying flat on my back so they let me sit up most of my labor. Dont keep yourself up stressing about it. Youll have plenty of sleepless nights soon enough.

I was terrified with my first and it only made labor and delivery way way worse. With my second I educated myself with every kind of pain relief, methods to prepare your vagina for birth, and sooo many birth stories. I went in calm, confident and knowing I would be in lots of pain. It actually is easier to accept it will be painful and work through the pain instead of against it. A huge pain reliever for me during labor was the tub!! Lots of hospitals have tubs, and if not a warm shower will help almost as good! It’s scary but amazing and you will do great ❤️
