Depressed husband keeps lying
Hi ladies,
My husband has dealing with severe depression for the entire decade we’ve been married. He has his ups and downs and I am there for him. But last year he quit his job without telling me and pretended to go to work for months. I just found out he has been on a leave of absence for 6 weeks, but again pretending to go to work. He would make up schedules and come home with stories of how busy it was that day. He had also previously lied about having his B.A. degree but had to fess up.
He is on medication. We live 5 minutes away from a therapy office but he was pretending to go to therapy but not actually going. I also found texts and snapchats on his phone back in April flirting with women and asking them for sexy pics. We have a 2.5 year old and another baby coming in February. My therapist advises I help him get into treatment again. I really love him but I am considering a divorce if this type of lying happens again. We just bought a house a year and a half ago. I don’t want to break up our family but I just can’t do this anymore. I am a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and it is very hard for me to trust in the first place. I don’t know what to do. I just know that I don’t want to spend the rest of my life like this.
