What is your blood type?

Question

Just wondering how many vegans out there are type A blood, because according to the Eating For Your Blood Type philosophy, type A is the most suited for vegetarianism/veganism. 
I am type A!

I am B+! I was a vegetarian for over 4 years and then I converted to vegan in August of 2016. Best decision of my life. Yes it’s true that I have an iron deficiency (I have always had that, it has nothing to do with what I eat) so I take a supplement as well as a multivitamin. I think as long as you actually eat healthy foods and not loads of carbs all the time you’re fine. I’m not 100% sure, but I don’t think blood type has anything to do with it. I’ve never heard that before 🤷🏻‍♀️ if it is true, I must be an exception 😂 because I’ve never had an issue.

I tried that theory/diet and it didn’t work well for me.
I always try things before I pass judgement. For me, I need a low carb diet in order to keep my weight down and my skin clear. I think your diet should be associated with your natural body type personally.

I’m vegan. Don’t recall my blood type, but I think it’s O+ (I know it’s not A). Being pro-vegan and pro-science, I’d like people reading this thread not to be deterred from veganism because they might not be type A. Scientifically, there’s no reason to correlate blood type with what diet will work for you. All type A blood means is that you express specific glycoproteins (antigens) on the surface of your red blood cells, and that has nothing to do with what you eat or how well that would work unless somebody mapped out the genome and also found that the genes near the ones that code for those proteins also happen to be close by to some genes that (I’ve never heard of) change how well you process plants in your diet? Since I am not aware of any nutritional genetics that follow any of those presumptions, I don’t think there’s any reason why one blood type can’t enjoy a great diet like veganism just as well as any other. I don’t mean to come off as nit-picky since everyone has their reasons for making dietary changes, but the state of pop science is such that it’s degrading the ability of people to make informed decisions, and I don’t want to deter others from that ability by thinking their blood type should be a defining factor in making good decisions for their bodies.
