What does this mean??

I’m 16 and my bf just started college close by so we still get to see each other. He told me today that he hates the commute to college so while he’s in the location he hopes to make some friends so he can have fun. I asked him what he meant by fun and he said. Partying and drinking. This worrying me. I trust my bf but I hate the idea of him being somewhere else partying. I was kinda hurt that he said that. Advice?

He sounds like a normal college kid that wants to go out and party like pretty much every single college student out there. He wants to make friends so he can go out and have fun with them. If he wasn’t looking to make friends in college that would be concerning because college isn’t just about school, it’s also a great time to meet people of lots of different background and upbringings. Lots of people meet their best friends in college. 
Also being a couple doesn’t mean you do every single thing together. You both need to have friends and a social life. He’s entering a new stage of life and needs to integrate into that stage of life. Otherwise he’s going to have a miserable college experience. 
As long as he isn’t drinking excessively and is able to continue to maintain is obligations like school and still make time for you, then going out to parties with new friends and being a typical college kid isn’t a bad thing. College is an exciting step in life. Try to be excited for him because in a couple years it’ll be your turn and you’ll likely want him to give you the freedom to enjoy your experience.

I agree with Samantha. Let him spread his wings and explore college. My only advice is that you trust him. Don’t let people get in your head on what he could be doing.

I wouldn’t be with someone that parties and drinks. That’s just me though.
