Fraternity Houses *TW* **UPDATE!!!**
So I’m sure we all know what a frat house is. But if not, it’s essentially a “brotherhood” of college guys who live in one house together. Idk about other colleges but the ones at mine are known solely for the party’s they throw. The university doesn’t care much what the frats do, the parties aren’t regulated. The often hang signs outside on Monday’s, prompting the party the plan to throw the following weekend (usually themed).
This year, at move in weekend, they hung signs to “welcome” the in coming freshman to our campus. The signs consisted of sayings like “We’re her daddy now”, “our couches pull out, but we don’t”, and the most controversial one of all (and the point behind this post) is “yes means yes. No means anal”. So many students and parents filed a complaint with the school, and they refused to make the frat take it down because “it’s not hurting anyone”. The parents argued that it suggests they don’t care about consent, the school says it’s a joke and the parents are taking it too literally.
Should the uni have made them take it down? Or are they right, it’s their free speech to put up whatever signs they please?
The sororities retaliated with signs saying “our bodies. Our rules”, “consent is sexy (there was a cross out on sexy and “mandatory” written underneath), “‘no’ does not mean ‘convince me’”, and one frat put a sign that read “women gave us life, the least we can give them is respect”
The other frats complained and the sororities and the one feat had to take their signs down, while the offensive one stayed.
Also, in the first two weeks of the semester, there have been 6 reports or rape and sexual assault.
Okay so some of the frats and sororities are standing their ground. L

People’s justice League posted this pictures from my university. There’s new ones that weren’t put up prior!!! Students are fighting against the rape culture our uni is trying to ingrain in us.
