So tonight I was scheduled 4pm - 10 pm. I’m not supposed to hit 6 hours without a break. I had a lot to do tonight in the store; such as changing window and ceiling signs, which I had to hang clothes from and it was very time consuming. I had to change mannequins which was also time consuming. And I had to change prices on things. I was about to hit my six and I asked if I should just clock out since I was about to hit the six hours. The manager said yes and you could go home (she said it kinda disappointed because I wasn’t done with the signs) so I was like fuck it I’ll stay till i finish because I’d feel bad leaving all that work on her. Plus she’s new. I just don’t know if I’ll get in trouble for working an extra almost 40 mins without getting paid. Anybody know anything about this kind of stuff?
