What is a stay-at-home-mom’s job?

Question

Assuming your SO is working a full time job, what SHOULD stay-at-home-moms be responsible for? If your answer differs from what actually happens in real life, what are you actually responsible for?

During the workday that my partner is at work, I am responsible for children and housework. However when he is home, he is responsible for 50% of those same duties.
It would be absurd if he got to go off the clock but I never did.

It depends. I’m responsible for our daughter and whatever else I can get done. There’s no hard line on division of labor at my house. I just do what I can and my husband picks up whatever slack there is when he can.

It's going to be up to each household to assign those roles.
As for me, it includes the children, the pets, the housework, running errands, making sure the bills are paid on time, and maintenance around the house.
My husband works 14 hour night shifts. He has about 1.5-2 hours of being with us during the day. He busts his ass outside the home and I bust my ass inside the home.

I'm a sahm but I'm 22 weeks pregnant and I'm having some complications during this pregnancy. Normally, I do all of the cleaning, cooking, taking care of the kids but my husband works 60-80 hours per week so that leaves him with little time to do much of anything around the house. Recently, my doctor has told me to take it easy so my kids and husband are contributing more than usual to helping around the house.

It depends on the number and ages of the kids. I have one three month old, and I spend all my time just feeding him and getting him to nap. I don’t have time for much else

This poll pisses me off to no end 🙄 clearly there are many women here living in the 1950's. I'm fully self-employed and work from home while caring for our daughter. But regardless of my working status, it is never my "job" to care for our home. I'm not the only one who lives here. My responsibilities when I'm home are to care for our daughter and make sure my work is done. My husband shares in all the responsibilities of caring for our daughter and keeping our home clean and everything else that has to be done. It's a partnership. If I have the time to vacuum or do a load of laundry I do it. Otherwise, my husband will do it when he comes home. He also cooks more often than I do and when he's home, I'm the "off duty" parent as well. It is NOT my "job" to do everything. My husband is a grown ass adult and we share every adult responsibility. This is exactly why so many women are overwork, stressed out, and depressed.

I'm not a sahm but I am on maternity leave for 18 months. I'm on mom duty until 6:00 then we're both on parent duty!
I try to keep the house clean and make dinner but my husband cleans up after dinner, cleans up after himself and takes baby for bit to give me a break.
I'm not his mom or his cleaning lady & he's not paying my bills (paid maternity leave) so I expect him to contribute like he did when I was working.
Of course I try to keep the house clean while I'm here all day but it's not my job!

Im responsible for kids, housework, errands, and anything else that comes up throughout the day. 
When he gets home everything is now as even as it can get though. 
I think this part of my opinion is a little less popular though?... I also believe all night duties with baby are my job. (Not that his help will be unwanted 😂) While i will be able to steal occasional naps throughout the day, he can not. So he needs the best sleep he can possibly get. And i will take the night shift. 
Weekends again are back to being as even as possible. Hopefully a little more on his side so they have more bonding time and to even it out a bit more for me taking over the nights.

My husband works full time, and I stay home full time. He pays the bills. I take care of the babies, house work, and laundry. I don’t ask for help with the babies. I can pretty much man it myself but he will pitch in and help with them without a problem. I wouldn’t say we are 50/50 with it though when he is home. It’s more like me being 80 and he’s the 20. I’m not mad about it, and nor does it bother me our dynamic is that way.

Every household is different so only each family can decide what works best for them. For me, I personally think that my job should be kids, housework and more. My husband is working hard 8-10 hours a day and I feel that I should contribute to our family by working hard for a good chunk of the day too :) 
Obviously with a small baby keeping you up at night or being pregnant you need to rest so there is days I don't do much (and my husband makes me take naps instead of working sometimes) but at the very least I make sure the kitchen is clean and dinner is made for the family. 
I value and understand how hard he works and he also understands and values how hard I work, it goes both ways :)
