Family dinner
My husband and I are only 4 weeksish, so we obviously haven't told anyone yet. Two months ago we had a bfp but I was spotting the whole time and got AF 2 days after, so we're real skittish about this one. Anyway, we were at family dinner at his parents and his dad offered me wine, "no thanks, I'm on call." which is true, I was on call, but also, ya know, knocked up. And in front of everyone she yells "are you sure there's no bun in the oven!?" In front of 5 people. Like. I can't. First of all, you're so effing gossipy that as soon as we tell you the whole world will know. We're waiting as long as we can before telling her, I was hoping to wait until the kids HS graduation, but hubby thinks 12 weeks. Secondly, we'll tell people when we're ready and not when you just decide to announce it. Third WHO DOES THAT. We've had a very early loss, and it was very early but it was still super upsetting. I don't want to tell a room full of people "oh yeah, we are pregnant," only to tell them the next day "false alarm, again." People at work ask me if I'm pregnant yet and I ask them what their sh*t looked like today. I'm sorry I thought we were taking about things that were none of our business involving our bodies (no one has asked me at work in a long time.) Lastly, after the dinner was done she texted the hubster to see why I wasn't in a great mood, so he told her and she told him basically I need to get over it. See ya at graduation!
