and also how much blood? is it always as much as the first time they do it? they took 3-4 giant vials and then 3 smaller vials and i blacked out and it took a while for me to get back to normal. it completely freaked me out and now i’m scared to get more blood drawn lol.

For me. First appointment at 8/9 weeks and the again for glucose. They also do it after labor

They drew 6-8 vials when I went around 5 weeks. It was for blood type and antibodies, and some other tests. I know they do it for glucose I think that’s 1-2 vials. Then I’m sure they will check you for STDs about 2 times. They did that with my first pregnancy.

First trimester screen and second trimester screen if it’s a healthy pregnancy. First trimester they took about 7 vials from me to test hemoglobin, hepatitis/HIV/etc, CBC, two genetic panels I opted for due to family history, and a couple others. Second trimester for me was glucose, hemoglobin, and liver function test. Since everything has been normal they won’t take my blood again unless I start having symptoms of a health condition.

I’ve only had my blood draw twice so far. My 12 week spot I had about 8 vials drawn. At my 16 week they drew 2 small vials. I’ll have to get it drawn one more time for my glucose test.
