friends with benefits

Me and this guy had sex back in May, he ended things the day after because he thought I wanted a relationship but I didn’t because of nursing school. I tried to reach out to him in the summer but he ignored me or said he was to busy. Well this past weekend he reached out to me and he wants to be friends with benefits i’m just scared someone will end up hurt, the sex is good between us but I just don’t know. Please help!
