What’s wrong with people?

I just saw a story about a mom who lost her child in North Carolina after he was swept from her arms due to the hurricane. People were saying that she purposely let go and that she was being negligent and didn’t try hard enough to save him. Like wtf?! This woman just lost her child. People need to stop being so judgmental.

I think it is hard to accept it. People put themselves in the same situation, and like to think what they would do differently. I know my first thought was my heart was broken for her losing her child, but my second thought was how the F did she, as a mother, even get in that situation in the first place? I'd hope that if I were in a similar situation, I would have gone to at LEAST Raleigh/Durham, but maybe her situation was such that she didn't have means to get there. Stories like these are so raw and painful that maybe it's easier for strangers to point fingers.
