1st time Mom

I’ve been seeing a Dr though a local hospital here. I’m 12 weeks, and so far w/insurance we’ve already spent about $500. it’s going to cost us around $3,000 to cover part of labor and delivery. then there’s the nursing staff, epidural, etc. to factor in. testing...

has anyone here delivered in a hospital and then delivered at home w/a midwife?

this will likely be our first and only kiddo since i’m 35.

any books or websites we can check out to compare? our local hospital does have a midwife clinic that they just opened up with birthing tubs in all the rooms, they’re setup like a home and IF anything goes awry, the OR is 70 seconds away from all the rooms.
