How do you ask your ex what his intentions are with you in a non pushy way?

My ex apologized for everything then he would text me sometimes. Then we hung out a couple of times. Then after homecoming he asked me if I wanted to hang out and we did and we had sex. I have so much feelings for him still and I want to know what he wants. His friend said he talks about me and that he thinks I’m pretty cool n stuff.

I know that he genuinely cares about me. Even if it’s not in the sense where he wants to be with me, I know he does. Long story short I was crying, he gave me the biggest hug ever and told me he loved me. That isn’t the reason why I know he cares about me, there’s just a lot into it I’m just trying to keep it short. It’s been a year and a half since we’ve been broken up btw.
