Low sperm count ivf only option?

Question

We just had our first clinic today.
Good thing is Obgyn said I don’t have pcos. however hubby has a low sperm count.
I cried.. my poor husband. Doc said IVF may be our only option..
Is there still hope? He suggested a multi vitamin menevit.
Please any flickers of hope or words of comfort x

I would always ask to try the less expensive IUI first before moving on to IVF. There are special sperm washes (and something like Gatorade for sperm😅) that I have heard can be a big help. I would also look up ways to improve sperm count and mobility. There are definitely things with diet and vitamins that can help 😊

You could try IUI as they prep and wash the sperm at the lab and take only the high quality sperm for the insemination. Best of luck!

IUI would be a waste of time and money. If both people are perfectly health and have no fertility problems,  the success rate is less than 10%. Depending on his count, the doctor won't even try it. Have you asked about Clomid for him? I raised my husband's count, and my friends husband also benefited from it

IVF sounds so drastic. He said IUI would probably not work. I need to be strong for my hubby. And not crumble. Thanks guys..I really thought I had pcos but scan was clear with lots of eggs.
