Won't let me see my father

My husband and his family are pretty much trying to cut me off from my dad who is the only person I have left. They told me I shouldn't take my daughter there because 5 years ago a man shot himself in the head with a shotgun at that house and in their religion and culture it's not good to take my daughter there.
