IUD questions

Hey everyone, so I’ve had my iud in for just over a year, after trying alllllll sorts of contraceptives (mainly due to heavy and extremely painful periods) i have endometriosis so my FPC suggested this as a last resort before trying something more permanent. So this is where i need help and reassurance really. My periods are all over the shot some months i get it like normal, other months its a no show and other months its like a massacre going on and The pain makes me want to vomit and its everywhere all in my stomach and my back even the tops of my legs. Some times when when not on my period i will get the most horrific cramps where i cant even move. Has this happened to any one else. Should i go and get it taken out? I also cant feel the strings I haven’t been able to ever however i went for a scan earlier in the year and they said its where it should be so is there any chance it could have moved? Sorry for the long post its been bugging me for ages but the fpc is useless xx
