Severe cramping and no bleeding.

Hi all, I'm currently 9 weeks 1 day pregnant and last night/early this morning I woke up to excruciating cramping. I went to the bathroom multiple times and no bleeding or anything. Just terrible cramps. I've had 3 previous miscarriages and it kind of felt like the start of that but then has totally subsided. Now I'm still laying in bed and only have minor consistent cramps. Now, on Thursday, my husband and I had sex and shortly after that I spotted but it stopped that night. I haven't had anything since. I was wondering if anyone had a similar experience or knows why the severe cramping happened. I've never had anything like it before, only when I was actually miscarrying. I have a doctor's appointment next week and I'm hoping baby will hold out at least until then.
