Boyfriend vs. furbaby

I have two dogs a five year old friendly pug and a four year old scared, nervouse lab. The pug is not the issue he loves everyone. The lab is a sweet lovable baby with me. He loves my nieces and nephews, my mom, my brothers, and my cousin that visits. So basically everyone important in my life is ok with him. He has come along way when we walk he doesn't get as crazy when strangers pass. I have been single for two years. The lab was abused by men :-(. I feel bad because i know he is a great dog and people are just stupid. The problem though is i recently got a new boyfriend. He makes me happier than i have been in a long time... My dog wags his tail, but barks like crazy. My boyfriend is scared and won't try to talk to him or make friends... I don't know how to fix it. Any suggestions?
