i definitely want to get my uterus taken out I’m I to young tho (17) what do you guys think I don’t really want any kids or anything and having to deal with my cycle anymore also cyst in uterus are common in my family so it’s also like a Precaution ( yes I know all the problems that come with it I don’t need the mama talk)

You’re only 17. Right now you probably don’t want kids. But your decisions later will be different than your decisions now. Later on you might fall in love and want children. You’d probably regret this. Wait a few more years and keep thinking about it. This is a huge decision.

You’ll start menopause if you get a hysterectomy. I’d recommend looking into long term birth control. There are plenty that will stop your cycle. It won’t help with cysts unfortunately, but menopause isn’t pleasant either. Good luck with whatever you choose!

I’m 21 and I’m going to eventually look into this but our healthcare system is hella sexist so you probs won’t be able to find a doc that will do it unless you have a medical reason for it or until you’ve had a certain number of kids and are married

Just for the record - its MAJOR abdominal surgery. If you dont want kids, get your tubes tied and use condoms. 
Theres no way I would ever want my uterus taken out simply for lack of wanting kids. It puts you through so much and its a major surgery. Keep your parts, they help your body function as its meant to.

You will have a hard time convincing a doctor to do it. If you are serious about it, have done your research, know and accept the risks, then it’s up to you to be persistent with doctors until you find a reputable one who will do it. It is more likely to get them to prescribe long term birth control (like an IUD or implant) or a less invasive procedure.

Yeah a hysterectomy this young may honestly screw things up even more. I totally get not wanting to have kids, that’s absolutely your right and your choice but unless for a fact you have certain medical issues a hysterectomy is possibly just going to send you into possible menopause at the age of 17 which is a tough tough time for women at age 50 let alone someone younger. Also it’s a lot of recovery for that and it has a lot of risks involved. All I’m saying is something like that is usually not elective for a reason. But if you do NEED it obviously talk to your doctor about that but I definitely would at least look into some long term birth controls such as the IUD, implant at least at the age you are.

I’m 24, married, expecting a baby conceived through fertility treatments due to issues not unlike you’re describing and still can’t get an obgyn in my town or surrounding area to agree to perform a hysterectomy on me after delivery. 
Like what everyone else has said above, hormonal birth control helps control cysts and can help ease the imbalances that create the problems in the first place. At your age, that’s likely all you’ll find a provider willing to do.

Get your eggs frozen, cause no eggs no kids. Id suggest birth control like the iud or copper iud, then when youre like 25 if youre atill thinking this then ud do it. But you'd get into forced menopause when you get it done.
