Do/did you date to marry?

I see a lot of posts on here about seemingly “end-game” things boyfriends/girlfriends/partners do and the person choosing to put up with it.

I’m never sure if that reason is because they want them as their forever partner or if it’s because they’re not taking it seriously and just want to live in the moment.

Now if you don’t believe in marriage, dating to find your life-long partner or mate applies here too.

For those dating for fun, do you or will you have an end goal?

My story: I’m married now, but when I dated I definitely factored in if I were planning to marry that person. If not, I would let the relationship run its course but wouldn’t get stressed out about anything and kind of just leave when I had enough. When it came to my now husband I worked really hard to keep our relationship strong resulting in our marriage.

My best friend said any potential suitor she has is literally just for fun. She has one single person she wants to marry but they’re not dating and probably won’t be anytime soon; that would be her only exception of dating to marry.
