FTM here with a question for those who already have kids.
When you had your baby(ies), did your parents or your in laws crowd you after you got home?
I haven't had my baby yet (due 8.18.15) but this week my mom told me she planned to stay with me after the baby was born, and also my husbands mom plans to take a week off after hubby goes back to work (he's taking 2 weeks off when baby is born), to come stay with me.
My mom planned to stay over night, and I don't know for how long. I think his mom only plans to stay during the day, but it hasn't been discussed yet.
I realize they want to be helpful, especially because I am a FTM, but I can't help but feel like I am not going to be able to enjoy the first few weeks of my baby's life because they will be there. Hubby already told his mom that if she wants to take off fine, but it won't be in the first two weeks because he wants it to just be us 3, and I said the same to my mom. But I don't want anyone staying with me all day every day while I am on maternity leave. If you want to come visit, come cook me something, sit with the baby while I shower, that's great, but I don't need you to sit with the baby while I am sleeping, and I certainly don't want you there while I'm trying to bond with him when he is awake.
Did anyone else have this problem? And if so, how did you handle it?
