When did your baby sit independently?

My baby is almost 6 months old and I still support her sitting (I hold her hips steady, because she tends to tilt to her right or left). Is this normal? Is there anything I should be doing to help her learn to sit, other than tummy time?

I work with infants and trust me when I say every baby is different!! Some babies are sitting by 5 months and some don’t till 8 months. Hell I had an 8 month old walking the other day while a 12 month old could barely pull them selves up to stand! Honestly babies are so different and they all develop differently at different paces. Don’t worry! They’ll do it when they’re ready 😊😊😊

Every baby is different. My first was sitting on his own at about 5 and a half months. My second wasn’t sitting until almost 7 months.
