Planned parenthood?

I’m 19 weeks tomorrow and my husband just lost his job therefor losing his/our health insurance as of oct 1. I need the ‘20 week’ anatomy scan, but I don’t really know what to do. Does anyone know if planned parenthood can do anatomy scans? Or have any suggestions? Please? I’m scared I won’t be able to get it done and I don’t know what to do. We can pay for it out of pocket that’s not a problem I just don’t know where to go and I’m stressing

Try applying for medicaid. Medicaid will cover it and typically will give you your medicaid # right away if you are pregnant so you can still see most regular doctors.

I assume you are in the US? Your husbands job is required to offer him continuation of coverage through COBRA, he will have to pay for it, but they have to give him that option. Another option is to try to get medicaid, or if you have the funds to pay out of pocket just call your regular obgyn and tell them you lost insurance but can pay for your 20 week appointment out of pocket.

I don’t think planned parenthood does anything OB. Your hospital should have some one in billing that helps connect ppl w out insurance into insurance plans you may qualify for. In NY they are called navigators and fill out and submit your application. But if you want to pay out of pocket I’d just keep seeing your OB and have them bill you, they may even be able to help link you into some resources for the inbetween time. Or cobra ? Does his employer offer that? It’s usually pretty pricey and temporary. But there are a lot of things out there to help ppl in your situation. Don’t get overwhelmed. My daughter broke her femur while I was waiting the 3 months before my employer benefits kicked in and so thankful I didn’t have to come out of pocket the 20k her surgery costed

It depends on your area. The planned parenthood locations in my area doesn’t offer prenatal care.

Yes you can get prenatal care at planned parenthood. They are great and help a lot of low income women and moms.
