Paid annual leave why?

Hiya ladies just been having a look threw all my payslips and i dont know if anyone knows here but can an employer pay you annual leave for sick days taken if you havent asked?
Help would be great i am from Australia

In Australia for sick days should be sick leave, if you have none your work place should be asking you if you want leave without pay or would you like to take annual

I'm from new zeland and if we dont have any sick days left we get to chose to use annual or dil days but they dont do this without our permission
