Career change
Hi everyone! I need some help, so here goes.
I'm 29 yrs old and graduated back in 2008 with an associate's degree in graphic design, it has been my passion since high school.
It hasn't been easy finding work over the years ESPECIALLY since my husband is in the military and we move every 2-3 yrs, and at one point we lived overseas, and possibly going back.
I was able to work in my field but briefly as I was being very over worked and underpaid. That is no exaggeration. The bosses were the owners and I was their only other employee. I handled front desk, all calls, packaging, invoices, copy/ faxes, preparing orders, creating multiple designs a week, dealing with customers, even cleaning the bathroom. I was making a bit over minimum wage in TX. They didn't even offer health insurance, so I left when they weren't willing to give me a decent raise.
I'm ready to let go of graphic design since it's just not a great career for the lifestyle I have. Currently I'm a stay at home mom, and am able to go back to school I just have no idea for what and I don't know how to figure out what I want.
I am interested in an office setting, working on a computer, and something that I can progress in.
I was hoping to get help with ideas for careers (maybe you have a career I'd enjoy) or maybe someone I talk to, or those career assessment things (I have taken 1 or 2 and they say stuff like childcare, and no that is not something I'm interested in)?
Please help, thank you!!
