Telling stepkids tonight

Well, got a good report at my 12 week appointment yesterday. I’m measuring appropriately and HR was in the 150s so we’re telling my stepdaughters tonight at dinner.

I think the (almost) 11 year old will be surprised but excited. I overheard her telling our 2 year a few months ago that she (the 2 year old) would always be the baby of the family so I don’t think she’s expecting that we’d have another. But I think she’ll be excited.

Not so sure about the 18 year old. She’s had a rough year.. got involved in stuff she shouldn’t have, moved in with her boyfriend for a while (thankfully is back living with mom now), almost didn’t graduate from high school. She’s doing better now, we think, but she’s a typical know it all teenager, it’s always about her so I’m not sure how she’s going to react. I hope she’s excited...

I’m way more nervous about telling them this time I was last time. Can it be 6 o’clock already????

Update: it went soo much better than I expected. The 11 year old was so excited she had to run upstairs to FaceTime her best friend (who didn’t believe her so then we all got on FaceTime to confirm that she was pranking her friend). The 18 year old wasn’t as visibly excited but she seemed ok with it. Definitely went better than I expected. Yay!
