First Dr appt. - What to Expect?!

Anyone know what I should expect at the first appointment? My first appointment with the nurse I will be 6 weeks 4 days at that point. I’m so excited and so nervous, just curious what to expect out of it. Will we get to hear the heart beat?

I hag that appointment just this last month :) They will draw some blood and want a urine sample for testing. Then the nurse will go over a LOT of information with medications and what you can and can't do while pregnant. Then they will want to know about your family and the father's family histories. Unfortunately, no ultrasound or heartbeat. That doesn't usually happen (unless it's a special circumstance) until your week 12 appointment with the OBGYN with the hearing of the heartbeat. Go in with your family histories ready and the same for the baby's father.

You won’t hear the heartbeat, but you might get to see it. I saw my baby’s heartbeat around that time frame, but don’t worry if they can’t find it so early....sometimes you’re really not as far along as you think OR you could be further than you think too! They’ll do a transvaginal ultrasound and get the first round of bloodwork/urine samples going and get a detailed medical history from you.

No heartbeat until 12 weeks. Mine just did urine test and said see you in 2 months
