Newborn clothing sizes???

Question

Ordered a coming home gown for my daughter. It says, "You are so loved" from HP. I just compared it with an actual newborn size gown from Carter's and now I'm worried it's going to look ridiculous on her, especially since we know we likely won't get to 40 weeks. Anybody buy gowns for their babes?? Will it still look OK??

So just FYI: all babies are so tiny that newborn cloths are massive on them. Nothing really looks “cute” on them except a swaddle blanket. 
You can wash it and dry it on high heat to try to shrink it as much as possible but keep in mind if you shrink it then she won’t fit it as long.

Carters has always run small in my experience. And like others have said, they’re often so tiny at birth that they’re swimming in whatever clothing you put on them. I struggled with the sleep gowns and car seats because of all the extra fabric and my guy was only 6lbs when we left the hospital

I'm sure it will be fine. I was a dumbass and thought my baby would be huge and I bought a 0-3 month sleeper for him in the hospital that he was literally swimming in, because he was average NB size. Hes 3 months next week and it still fits him! So I think anything NB is going to be ok.
