Moving?

I haven’t shared this to anyone I know irl but my roommate and I are looking to move to Kenosha, Wisconsin. Or a town near it. Racine, Bristol, Pleasant Prairie, etc.

I am super excited as this is the first place I actually ever felt a type of calling too. Its a beautiful town and the people there are super friendly.

What should I do before I move? I have a little under 11 months before we make the move (my roommate is at a company and has to be there a 2 years before he can switch to one of the companies up there.) but was wondering what should I do? Should I look into potentially buying a house or renting an apartment just in case we decide to move back? I’m a homeowner now at 18. I’m working on my credit, so would a bank loan be the best approach? I know there’s a bunch of houses for auction that have been foreclosed, so should I look into buying one of those? (They start at around $20,000 which id be able to save in 11 months).

I just don’t know what to do! Renting is super expensive around there and doesn’t allow pets often so I’m thinking maybe looking into buying.. ah, so much to do in such little time.
