Advice... anything... help.
Okay. I'm talking PESTS. My family and I (2 girls and hubby) are renting a house that came WITH roaches, and we didnt realize it until about a week into living here. I have mentioned it to our landlord, she says that WE have to take action first in order for her to send maintenance out to spray. Okay. SO. We got our own spray from Lowes, I called Cookes and a place nearby called Sherills. Neither of those are anywhere close to being in price range. We have a limited amount each week with different bills and groceries, like any other family. So we used the spray from Lowes, it made them move to another location, being my FREAKING MICROWAVE. 😫 So I told the landlord we did our part. She had the maintenance guy come out and spray, she and him both claimed he'd be out weekly to spray around the house. He has only been here ONCE, two weeks ago. Which, the spray has made them move to different areas. So I called the cheaper pest control (still not in budget though) and asked them how exactly THEY go about getting them gone. They told me they use bait and traps. So we found traps at Lowes last week, set them out EVERYWHERE. We couldnt find bait, so this week when hubby gets paid again, we're going to look other places for it. I'm still seeing SOME but not near as many within a week already.
I'm so embarrassed and grossed out. I keep the house spotless, clean, and good smelling. We have NEVER had this issue before now, and I am kinda LIVID that she let us move in with it in this condition knowing we had two girls. If this doesnt work, idk what else to do... has anyone else had this issue? Please anyone.. I need advice, help, SOMETHING. I'll be danged if my girls get sick bc these things get into something of theirs that idk about. I could literally rip our landlord a new one at this point.
Side note: before we moved in, but had already got the lease printed out and ready to sign, she had told us that she "bombed the house twice". I know, stupid me, I didnt think anything of it bc every other rental place we've been in, they have done this and we had no issues out of the house. So I thought it was protocol pretty much, so I didnt think to ask "what for?". 😔
I could CRY.
