So my baby is a week and a day old and I am going to be breastfeeding I really wanna do it Strongly  ..But I think I wanna bottle feed too if that make sense breastfeeding is hard and I know me and the baby are going to get it down pack but those nights I’m just super tired haven’t pumped any milk and breast are sore I just wanna have a quick go to so she doesn’t get to fussy from being hungry don’t judge me 😩can you do both? Can she get sick from doing both? This is the milk I wanna try

Doing both is fine. There’s plenty of parents that supplement. The only downside is possible nipple confusion and baby refusing to latch on to your nipple.

There is nothing wrong with doing both. However, it may hurt your supply if you dont pump during the times that you are supplementing, especially in the early days. Your breastmilk is supply and demand. If you arent nursing or pumping, your body will get the signal that you dont need to make as much milk. My two oldest had formula sometimes. I waited until they were a little older to do it. It didnt affect my supply at that point. But just be aware than it  can affect your milk supply. You should also read up on pace feeding if you havent already. There are some good videos on youtube. Its a lot easier for baby to get milk from a bottle than it is from the breast. So they can sometimes become lazy and start to prefer the bottle over the breast. I didnt know about this when my 2 oldest were nursing/bottle feeding. Luckily they were able to switch between breast feeding and bottle feeding with no issues. I think its just good to be aware of these things so you can try prevent issues later on.

I did both and my baby was fine and the main reason I did both was so my husband could help out with feeding time and it worked wonders until he was like 8 month then he perferd the bottle instead but I was fine with it

Doing both can cause an upset belly and constipation. I’d pick one and stick with it. Start pumping as soon as you can and do it as often as possible and you shouldn’t have to supplement formula.

I would type up my own experience and opinion but Hayley jeny and Melissa said everything I would say. Baby’s get lazy after taking a bottle bc it’s easier and you can hurt ur supply if you don’t pump when baby feeds..basically if you don’t use it you lose it. The first several weeks are the hardest. I feel like you won’t regret sticking it out but you might regret introducing a bottle so early. BUT you have to do what’s best for not just baby but you also. So if introducing bottle and supplementing helps you then do it but I’d suggest mixing the formula with breast milk in the bottle.

Similac makes a formula made for supplementing, I think it’s easier to digest like breast milk. You can buy it in powder form or 2oz premade bottles. It’s a green tub. It is kind of pricey, it was $27 at walmart for us.

I do this, but i waited until 2 months so I know she wouldn’t prefer the bottle. She honestly prefers to nurse then the bottle but will take it most of the time!

Please consider getting non-canned formula. Cans such as those contain BPA lining.
On another note, I am doing both, but I wish I didn't offer her the bottle so soon. I gave my baby a bottle at 2 1/2 weeks or 3 (I can't remember exactly), and now she prefers the bottle. It's made breastfeeding really tough because she only feeds on each breast for about 2 minutes, and then cries for her bottle. And I really haven't found enough time to breast pump nearly as much as I'd like to. I regret introducing a bottle so soon. She doesn't suck the breast as well either because she sucks it like a bottle nipple (thanks to nipple confusion). I wish I could go back and never have given her a bottle until breastfeeding was well established. Which the recommended time is 4-6 weeks.
