ECV procedure
So I’m 36w and baby is still breech. OB ordered ultrasound for 37w and if she still hasn’t turned we are looking at doing an ECV to get her to turn. I’m high risk and have been the entire pregnancy for various reasons. My stomach has not grown noticeably at all, I’ve gained less than 6lbs and the concern is that if we don’t do the ECV, then she is going to become too big to turn on her own. (We’ve been tracking growth and conditions with weekly NSTs and Ultrasounds since around week 32). OB mentioned there’s a chance that with the limited room, the ECV could cause water to break and baby to come early. My other option is a scheduled c-section at 39 weeks, which my OB knows is not what I want to do so we are trying everything to get her turned and coming naturally on her own. Obviously I could wait until I’m 40 weeks and hope for the best but with the other risks we’ve dealt with that just isn’t a safe option for baby or myself.
My questions are (other than paying for spinning babies) what are some tips for home, to get baby girl to flip on her own?
If you had an ECV, did it work?
If you had an ECV did you still make it to term or did it bring on labor early?
I’d like to add that I fully trust my OB I know he wouldn’t be trying to do anything to rush my pregnancy or make his job easier, he’s not that kind of doctor.
