Baby spit up vs vomit HELP

My son is 6 months old and never had a problem with spitting up. He has maybe spit up 10 times in his whole life and each time it was very little.

Tonight while giving him his bottle before bed he started acting a little fussy so i picked him up and patted his back and when i did he spit up (or threw up) all over me. It looked like the whole contents of the bottle. It covered our couch, me, and him. So i take him to his changing table and he then does it again. At this point I’m getting worried he’s actually sick and vomiting.

I give him another bath, dress him, and sit him in his chair while i clean up myself and the couch and after about 10 min he spits up again and this time it was mostly clear liquid!

So after all of this about 30 min later i try getting him to sleep but he’s hungry so i feed him only 3 ounces to see if he spits it up again. So far he’s not.

He’s now asleep and has been for almost an hour with no spit up. Could this be vomit and he have a virus or something? Or can a baby spit up that much after only drinking one bottle??

I’m so confused! He’s never had an issue before so I’m a little worried!! He also attends daycare and I’m trying to decide if i should send him tomorrow or not.
