Trying to conceive for 8 months

I was on the pill for more than 10 years. Stopped for a couple of months then resumed. I am trying to conceive but I haven’t been able to. I am discouraged and think about having a baby every day. It’s been 8 months since I stopped taking bc. I don’t know what to do. I have a prenatal appointment with a new obgyn. I know I have to wait at least a year to be considered Infertile. Need help/advise. Thanks
