I’m sorry for how harsh this question may be, but I’m very curious. I’ve NEVER heard of a chemical pregnancy until i started using this app. My question is, when you say you had one, are you just diagnosing yourself with it or going to the doctors? It’s honestly astonishing seeing so many woman saying that.

Chemical is when your are pregnant but miscarry before an ultrasound can confirm it.
Most are self diagnosed... But now a days ladys get a BFP and can go right in for bloodwork but will miscarey before the doctor can get her in for the dating ultrasound.

I believe I’ve had two. Both times i started bleeding super early or super late baded off my period, had a positive pregnancy test right before bleeding. Every symptom of pregnancy from nausea to fatigue. completely felt pregnant. I’m super in tune with my body. Ive taken pregnancy tests a lot when i was on BC monthly just to check and never had those faint positives like i did the two times i self diagnosed with chemical. my bleeding was also abnormal and not like my period as well. That’s how i just knew

I started bleeding and went to the ER about 4 or 5 days after my positive pregnancy test and was confirmed by ultrasound and blood work that I had a chemical pregnancy at 5 weeks. It’s considered a very early miscarriage and it’s pretty common, which is probably why you see so many women saying they’ve had one.

I just had a chemical pregnancy. Tested positive 25 September at 12dpo. Kept on testing to hopefully see line progression - which I did for a little while. Decided to take a clearblue with weeks indicator Friday 5 October and it came back 1-2weeks (I was exactly 5 weeks so figured the test should've come back at least 2-3 weeks). Took another clearblue weeks indicator Sunday and Monday and still saying 1-2 weeks. So took another line test - quite faint and not as dark as I felt it should be for 5w3d.
Told my husband Monday evening I didn't think pickle was here to stay - he tried to reassure me, told me I'd tested later in the day etc etc. but I already knew. Tested again with the same brand line test on Tuesday and there was the faintest line in the world - fainter than I had gotten when I first tested positive. I started bleeding half an hour later.
I haven't tested since - there is no point. The bleeding is heavy enough for me to know there is no chance our baby made it. The test on Tuesday was the proof of the hcg falling. Called my Dr and he confirmed from what I told him that it was a chemical pregnancy - said they're very common and there are lots and lots of ladies who have them without even knowing they're pregnant - they just think they've had a later than normal period. Honestly? If we weren't ttc and I hadn't tested a couple of days before my period I would probably have chalked it up to a late period too.
My Dr didn't need to see me. He has put it on my file (because we also had a miscarriage in June at 11w1d so if I feel the need they will investigate why I've miscarried twice). He said as long as I feel able to deal with it then he's happy not to see me and just advise over the phone if needed. 
I'm guessing the fact that I am bleeding and it has been quite heavy that the hcg level will already have returned to zero or more or less so. Dr did advise to take another test a week after the bleeding started just to make sure it was still negative - think this is also bc he knows we are ttc and so we know the hcg def went ready for next pregnancy.

I had one a month after getting my IUD out. I had a few positives followed by some negative tests at home so I quickly made an appointment with my dr for blood work. He was the one that explained to be that it had been a chemical pregnancy due to the walls of my uterus being so rough that the embryo couldn’t latch well enough. I had heavy bleeding and a lot of painful cramps. It was not only emotionally draining but also pretty hard on my body..

Both for me... Sometimes I’ve managed to get to the doctors for bloodwork before the bleeding started, other times I’ve only known I was preg by a hpt... It’s definitely a horrible feeling knowing your preg one moment then the next you’ve had a chemical pregnancy 😔

I went to the ER with bleeding when I was 5 weeks pregnant in August. They did an ultrasound and blood tests and concluded that I was having a chemical pregnancy which essentially is just a very early miscarriage. It was seriously one of the hardest things for me to comprehend 😢

I believe I had one. I kept getting super faint positive. Started bleeding 11 days after aunt flow was due. Doctors didn't want to admit I got pregnant to the iud.

I got a beta blood draw on 15dpo and it was only 11. I bled a day or two later so doc confirmed it was a chemical.
I then got more blood 2 weeks later to confirm it was fully gone and it was back down below 5 (negative).

I had one in March and took 3 test and was positive. A couple of days after I had sharp pains that were so painful I had to hold on to something to manage the pain. Went to the doctors after I started bleeding and got a blood test done. Basically was told my hcg was disappearing.
