Flu shot for 7 month old?

Baby boy is 7 months old. I am usually pro vaccine so he’s up to date on everything but I’m terrified of the flu shot. His dad is SEVERELY allergic to the flu shot, the one year he got it he almost died at the age of 20. I’ve always gotten the shot with no issues. Baby was full term and has no health issues. I do daycare and baby comes with me so he is around 12 kids often but no ones allowed to touch him and I make everyone stay back. He’s breastfed, would it help if I got it and just kept breastfeeding? Please share any and all opinions, good or bad!

Breastfeeding after you get the vaccine is not going to pass the immunity onto him. Get him the shot.

I was going to say absolutely yes, get baby the flu shot. 
But then I read that the child’s father is severely allergic to it. So.... I think that’s something you need to discuss with the pedi as many/most of us may not be aware of what kind of risk that poses to your child.

Ask his pediatrician and explain the father’s history. If your pediatrician recommends it, get him the shot. The flu can be deadly to infants and children.

according to the cdc, you do pass along some protection by getting the shot yourself and breastfeeding. if it's not required at the daycare then don't do it if you don't feel right about it.

I am 100% pro vaccine. My son got his at 6 months old. That being said I wouldn’t give it to your baby this year just because of his dads reaction. I’d wait until next year.

I’m not sure where you are from but in the UK they don’t give it until the kids are 2 🤷🏻‍♀️ I tried to get it for my little girl but they said no 🤦🏻‍♀️
They wanted me to get it myself when I was pregnant with her but I was not keen on it at all 🤷🏻‍♀️

My little dude will get his at his 6 month appointment. He isn’t around many other little often, but I work in a hospital and as hard as I try, bringing home germs is just part of the job.

Vaccines are even required for school 😳 atleast in LA it is lol you definitely should that way that baby can have a better immune system

I would talk to the dr due to his dad's reaction. I personally don't get one because I'm slightly allergic to eggs but I let my kids get theirs at that age since they are not.
