A month long period!!!

So my period in September was 3 days late, I should have come on, on the 14th but it didn’t come until 17th since then I’ve had about a week in total where i have not been bleeding, me and my partner are trying to convince but this has put a stop to us even trying. I have been to my doctors about it and all they keep telling me is it’s normal and would stop, me on the other hand know this isn’t normal for me even after having an ectopic pregnancy I didn’t bleed for that long nor did I when my first period came. Has any one else experience this? I’m dying to have my rainbow baby thanks for reading
