Nameless

So my mother in law/grandmother in law(husbands grandma adopted him) completely destroyed the name I wanted to use for our daughter. She made me feel so bad about wanting to use it and I've been crying for the last 2 days about it. It was my grandmother's name who passed when my mom was young and I loved it. But now I just feel depressed and dont even know if I wanna use it. Shes the type of grandma who because she doesnt see my husband sister she doesn't consider her a granddaughter.

Is Elaine that bad of a name?

I dont know how to shake the feeling of dread about naming her anything. It took me hours and hours of searching through names to even decide on this one. But she refuses to even call her Elaine

Does anyone have any names that are elegant and feminine but not the typical girl names.

Undate: so we sat down and decided to name our baby girl Adaline Elaine. Thank you everyone for your help.

I gave her an old fashioned name and I didnt it alittle to tick my in laws off. But they wont know till her birth certificate has been signed and were out of the hospital.
