Life is Funny

When I was in high school I was always single, always the third, fifth, seventh wheel. My friends would constantly be talking about their boyfriends and I eventually got so desperate to have something to say I made up stories about boys to feel included. It may sound pathetic but I found it difficult to be the girl who made it to 21 without having kissed anyone outside a game of truth or dare.

Fast forward to 24. I married the love of my life this summer after a happy, healthy three year relationship. My only relationship.

The friends I was always so jealous of for having the boys all over them and their juicy stories to tell? All single. Now when we get together they still talk about different boys but it’s usually online dating gone wrong. I’m not being petty, we’ve talked about how the tables turned. I just say this to offer encouragement to anyone who feels like they’ll never find anyone. To anyone who feels “behind” their friends when it comes to dating and kissing and all of that. I 100% recommend taking your time and waiting for the right person and not rushing into anything for the sake of a story to tell. You’ll be happier for it in the long run.
