What to expect after delivery

Hey moms 👋🏾
I’m having a strong douse of anxiety right now! What should I expect the first couple days after delivery? What were all of your experiences like?

I was in the hospital for a few days because my baby had jaundice and they had him under a blue light to help get his levels down. 
I would highly suggest writing anything important down because I was really out of it and couldn't remember anything. I didn't even have an epidural. 
I was really sore after delivery. I had a second degree tear and it was hard to get up and sit down. Going to the bathroom wasnt too bad but was a learning process what my body could handle. 
Definitely take advantage of the lactation consultant at the hospital and make sure you can get a good latch and know a few different positions for breastfeeding before you leave.

I only spent one night in hospital...had an episiotomy so stitches were sore and very swollen, manageable pain but had to walk fairly slowly, getting out if chairs was sore. 
You bleed lots of course so need pads, but that didn’t hurt at all.
If you breastfeed, you get mild cramps which is your womb contracting- found that very odd!
Being at home with a new tiny baby is scary but brilliant- just enjoy it!

I was relieved she was here but also anxious about this new chapter. We were happy to get home and in our own space but then we knew it was all on us. I think at this point we remain a team and try to take turns if we realize one of us is beyond tired. I listen to others who are parents advice but ultimately do what’s best for YOUR family.

You'll be sore and in a bit of shock. Mostly I was relieved to have my baby here safe and not be giant pregnant and uncomfortable.
