Why does my dog do this!?

Question

Omg, why is it that I can't give my dog lovins (belly rubs,snuggles) without him getting excited? He always tries to hump or go to sniff the crotch... It grosses me out. How do I stop that!? He will also do that to anyone that  walks through the door & it's embarrassing. 
I can't even set a baby on the floor without him going straight to sniff crotch. We're having a baby soon & it needs to stop. We tell him no & push him away when he does these things.
He's 1 & not neutered. Idk if that makes a difference.

Yeah get his neutered.  It's healthier for them anyway. Fixed dogs live longer

This is a dominance issue. Getting him fixed will help a ton, but until you do there are a few things you can do to put him back down to his appropriate level in the pack. Be very firm when telling him "no" and do not back down. When you water him, spit in the water bowl before you give it to him. He will smell it and it will let him know that YOU got water first because you are alfa. Also when feeding him, do not allow him to eat until YOU say it's ok, this also shows your dominance over him. Regular walks are also helpful to expend his extra energy. Hope this helps!

Sniffing the crotch/butt of someone is how dogs sense your health in a way. When they do it with other dogs they can smell nutrients and the like and figure out if they should be friends (a healthy, cared for friend is better than one that's not). Its the same general idea with people. They are trying to make sure you're healthy and okay.

That being said, if the sniffing is overly excessive there could be an underlying problem.
