Toddler bed

My son will be 2 this month, he sleeps in a crib with the rail off. He sleeps really well in his crib. He just stopped taking a pacifier this week 🙌 I’m due with my second in March. When is the best time to move him to a regular bed? I don’t want to wait to close to due date but he sleeps so good in his crib right now. And getting rid of pacifier is already a big change for him. Not sure when a good time is, I’m also antsy to start decorating nursery and it’s not the same without a crib.
