Curly hair help please!

This is one day after showering and my hair just looks like a rats nest. It also looks so dry and frizzy.

I use Ouidad and I only comb my hair (after a shower) and I use a microfiber towel to pat it dry. My hair only ever looks okay the day it’s washed. What are products I could use to make it look better? Is there anything I’m doing wrong? I sleep with my hair up in a ponytail (even when I don’t sleep with it up in a ponytail it still looks bad the next day) and I shower with pretty hot water. Any tips?
