Birth on base?
My baby’s father is in the Army, but we are not married so I am not technically his dependent, however the baby will be (obviously). My questions are:
1) Will I be able to give birth to our child on base? He said it’s an option, but google says otherwise.
2) None of my family has a military ID, how would they be able to visit and be there for the birth, or will they not be allowed to visit or be there for the birth?
3) How will I get on base if I’m in labor and he is already on base and not with me?
This is something I’m going to talk to him about, but I want some insight first.
Also, how was giving birth in a military hospital different from a civilian hospital?
I heard (even though it sounds completely untrue) that you don’t pay for the hospital stay giving birth on base. I’m considering birthing on base because he wants me to and he says it’s better, but this is both of our first child and I want to know everything possible before deciding. Thanks y’all!!!
