How many times a day do you feed your cat?

I feed mine once a day but he cries for more food should I be feeding him twice?

Mine two cats just eat when they please. They are both indoors and outdoors so some days they’ll eat once a day, other five times a day.

I have one cat that is fed once a day. She doesn’t eat all of her food immediately though and free feed on her own. Another one of my cats will eat so much food he gets sick. He’s fed three times a day. And my youngest one is fed twice a day. 
All three get the same amount of food (relative to their body size) and all are a perfect body condition score. A past cat used to get fed once a day and he ate everything all at once, but that was good for him (that’s actually how the ‘wild’ cat is- they hunt and eat one meal). He was in perfect condition his whole life and never wanted more food. 
Look on the back of the food bag and it’ll say how much your cat should be getting a day. For example, one of my cats is 4kg and her food says for 4kg cats feed them 1/4 cup of food per day. So She gets that split between two meals. But, do not feed the fat on your cat. If you have a fat cat that weighs 6kg he should not be getting fed that much- you feed the cat within the fat suit. Talk to your vet about what body condition your cat is in and talk about food options and good ways to feed your cat.

I give mine wet food in the morning and leave dry food out all day. They prefer wet food so it’s like they settle for the dry stuff when they’re hungry. They’re both healthy weight.

i feel like once a day is not enough.. for anyone.. I know it’s not recommended for most creatures but we just free feed our cat. he’s super healthy and not even slightly overweight so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
