I’m supposed to take my birth control when my period or I start spotting

I have bad cramps and a brownish red discharge. This happened when I first started getting my period.

Would I take start my birth control today or see how Tmr is?

If I start it today do i take a active now and then Tmr do the one with no hormones? The instructions are using words I don’t understand.

yes I know to take it every day.
