White noise/ sound machine?

I’m torn on if I need a white noise machine or not. I have friends who just use fans to block out the sound in babies room. I’m curious what everyone’s thoughts are if they’ve tried them and if you’d recommend them.

A white noise machine is more used to mimic the mother’s womb, not really to block noise out. It was the biggest life saver for me and my daughter.

Every baby is different. My baby does not like white noise but enjoys music being played

I wouldn’t buy an actual sound machine until you test out different noises on your babe. Get an app on your phone. I have ‘White Noise’ for iPhone and used the brown noise sound for our little one. 
I’d buy a fan before I bought an actual machine for sure.

You can just youtube white noise for babies. Theres a thousand videos.

The womb is as loud as a vacuum cleaner, so get whichever makes more noise

My son slept with white noise for 1 1/2 years. He still uses it here and there but doesn’t need it. 
I just download a app on my iPad and used it. But with the new baby she has white noise on her swing/glider next to her bed so I’ll just play it, if it doesn’t work for her I’ll buy a machine

A coworker of mine uses Pink Noise for her children. The 8 and 6 year old don’t like it, but will fall asleep to it and tend to stay asleep. You can test it out and see if it works for your child/ren
