Needing advice

Idk how to address this issue, bc my MIL asked me to act like I don’t know .

Me and my husband asked that everyone who wants to come see our newborn, due February 5th, please get their flu shot. We aren’t demanding they get it, we are just asking that if they don’t get vaccinated or your kids vaccinated, please do not come to the hospital and try to see her right after she is born. Where I live people have already died from influenza. You get one chance to protect your kids, that’s it. This is our request and our baby. I respect if you are anti vax or against the flu shot, just please don’t come trying to hold our baby and get in her face.

Well my SIL text my MIL and said I guess we won’t be coming to see the baby. We really want to but I’m against the flu shot and not making my kids get it and I’m not getting it either. Hopefully she will forget about it by the time the baby is born....(keep in mind she has three kids who are around other kids all the time. One in elementary school and one in day care.)

What would you do if you were in my shoes?
